CUBA AND PUERTO RICO ARE FROM ONE BIRD BOTH WINGS

Holguín, Cuba - http://www.payolibre.com/ - In hours of the afternoon of april 11 was violently detained by the police a lady who claimed to be of "puerto rican nationality".

The lady, who did not mentioned her name, yelled claiming, at the moment of her detention, a defender of human rights and was able to enter a political-cultural act celebrated in the municipality of Camagüey of Guaimaro with the motive of celebrating the 140 aniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the Republic in arms.

The act was celebrated at closed doors and with a strong police presense which closed the entrance on various blocks around the area.

According to the witnesses, the supposed defender of human rights publicly questioned and before Ricardo Alarcón of Quesada, president of the National assembly and principal governmental orator in the act, the contradictions which exist in the actual cuban constitution, of the none existance of a state of rights in the island and the constant violations of the civil rights and humane which are daily submited the cubans.

According to Kadir Culley Martínez, the source of this information, the police refused to offer information to the people who where interested on the luck of the lady detained, where would she be transfered to, and added that "the cubans where grateful for her valor and solidarity".

Note: Some day, if democracy, free elections and human rights are reestablished again in Cuba, i believe the best choice for Puerto Rico, is to unite as a confederation. And if possible Cuba, Santo Domingo and Puerto Rico all united in the Confederation of the Caribbean as was proposed over 100 years ago by Eugenio María de Hostos. This might never happen, but if possible i believe it would be the best choice. We, the three islands, have to much in common to have it any other way.
My love for the United States is unquestionable but becoming a state of this great nation and friend of ours i do not personaly believe is the correct road to take; from our hispanic heritage point of view it seems as though we have to much to lose by becoming another state of the U.S.. On the other hand, as is Japan with its islands, it seems more useful and makes better sense to unite the three islands in a caribbean confederation, so as to develop in a caribbean political and economic power. Of course we can succeed as Cuba has done in the past by maintaining close diplomatic and friendly relationship with the United States.
As the U.S. have done by uniting all the resources of its 50 states and developing into one great nation, the Confederation of the Caribbean could also develop in the same matter. I doubt this, but if Jamaica and Haiti would comply and would be willing to assimilate into the hispanic culture, they could also be included into this idea of the confederation. This to me, in my personal view is the only alternative into us growing into a possible economic super power.
