DHL complicit in Cuba’s Human Rights Abuses

By Val Prieto, on May 27, 2010, at 8:30 am

In this excellent post by Alberto yesterday, we learned the true reason for all the lobbying taking place to lift the embargo is CASH. US businesses are chomping at the bit to get a piece of the Cuba action.

And of course, many are arguing that the opening up of travel lifting of the trade embargo will help end the human rights abuses and help the Cuban people.

The reality is quite different, however. And one example of this is the recent cowtowing to the Cuban government by none other than DHL.

The international shipping company has confiscated a package meant for Yoani Sanchez at the behest of the Cuban Government.

And that, in a nutshell, is exactly what one can expect from any company or corporation doing business in Cuba. Just like the MSM entities that refuse to expose the truth about the situation in Cuba for fear of being expelled from the island, US business will be under the same gun.

Do anything that the regime finds unfavorable and out you go. Bring in the next suckers.
