Today is Day 52 of the BP Oil Spill and more and more bird's and sea life have been showing up dead or drenched in oil, along the Gulf Coast. There are thousands of fishing families and business owners who have yet to receive any compensation for loss of work / business due to the oil spill.
I was watching the news today and can image the thousands of people who will be completely ruined financially, but unlike Hurricane Katrina, they will suffer in silence inside their soon to be foreclosed homes, as the bills pile up, and the creditor's call, and the money is gone. It is not that they won't work BUT they can't do what they have done for generation's, which is fish, shrimp and oyster. Where is the money coming from to re-train them (It doesn't exist) ? Where is the money coming from to compensate them and how exactly do you prove you need the compensation (Nobody knows) ? The questions can go on and on but one thing is for certain, it is DAY 52, and no one seems to have ANY IDEA, when questions are posed to them.
