This is amateur 16mm film taken on a cruise starting in New York City, stopping in Cuba, Jamaica, and Panama. The trip took place in 1937. The narration was added in 1996.

The narrator states that Castro came into power after World War II. That is misleading. It is true that he began his rise to power as early as 1948, he did not actually become Prime Minister of Cuba until February 16, 1959.

The film is set to play back at 16 frames per second.
