Luis G. Fortuño participó del ascenso del Ayudante General de Puerto Rico

Major General (PR) Antonio J. Vicéns-Gonzalez was designated as The Adjutant General of Puerto Rico by Governor Luis Fortuño on 2 Jan 2009. As The Adjutant General of Puerto Rico, he is the Governor’s senior military advisor and commands a force of over 10,000 citizen-soldiers and airmen of the three components of the Puerto Rico National Guard: Army National Guard, Air National Guard and State Guard, and over 445 full time civilian employees.

General Vicéns was commissioned in 1972 after graduating as the Distinguished Military Graduate, Officer Candidate School, from the Puerto Rico National Guard Military Academy located in Salinas, Puerto Rico. Throughout his career, General Vicéns has occupied positions of increased responsibility such as: Platoon Leader, Company Commander, Primary Staff Officer at Battalion and Brigade Level, Battalion Commander, Assistant Adjutant General-Army and Brigade Commander. Prior to his designation, General Vicéns retired from the Puerto Rico National Guard as the Commanding General of the 92d Infantry Brigade (Separate), and was called back to service in May 2009.
