Buenos Aires is one of the major cultural metropolis of the West, no city in the world has as many theaters as the capital of Argentina. The city has a very broad cultural spectrum due to the diversity of those who have lived throughout their history.

The city of Buenos Aires has more than 300 theaters, in 2004 succeeded to put in billboard more amount of plays that the very Paris,, (without count with the Teatro Colon and the Teatro Cervantes, internationally recognized).

Strongly influenced by European culture, Buenos Aires is sometimes referred to as the "Paris of South America".

Buenos Aires is the site of the Teatro Colón, one of the world's greatest opera houses.

It is closed for renovations until at least 2010. There are several symphony orchestras and choral societies. The city has numerous museums related to history, fine arts, modern arts, decorative arts, popular arts, sacred art, arts and crafts, theatre and popular music, as well as the preserved homes of noted art collectors, writers, composers and artists. The city is home to hundreds of bookstores, public libraries and cultural associations, as well as the largest concentration of active theatres in Latin America. It has a world-famous zoo and Botanical Garden, a large number of landscaped parks and squares, as well as churches and places of worship of many denominations, many of which are architecturally noteworthy.

The Buenos Aires International Book Fair Every April in the city is celebrated the Buenos Aires International Book Fair, is one of the top-five book fairs in the world, oriented to the literary community as well as to the general public.
Buenos Aires has a select group of about 50 bars known as Notable bars, these bars are characterized by having been involved in a large part of the history of the city, these bars receive assistance from the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.
